Valiant Hearts: The Great War Review

image

While World War II games have been done to death it’s weird to think that next to nothing has been made detailing the events of the previous World War. Even in the history classes that I took in both high school and in college World War I was considered nothing more a mere afterthought compared to the events of World War II. Why is that? Was it because the events of World War I were not exactly historic and eventful? Maybe it’s because the United States never played a major role until the war’s latter years. Whatever it is, the stories of the First World War should not be forgotten in the panels of history, and the developers at Ubisoft Montpellier made sure of just that.

WWE Immortals Review

Bray Wyatt has gained control of the Dark Lantern only to have it ripped away by The Authority who plan to use it’s power to…you know what? Who cares about this absurd story. It makes about as much sense as some of the ridiculous story lines taking place on WWE television as of late. As The Rock says “It doesn’t matter!” There’s not much to WB Games and NetherRealm Studios’ latest release of WWE Immortals. A free-to-play fighting game featuring WWE Superstars battling it out in a fantasy setting.

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse Review

September 4, 2013 Leave a comment

Just like DuckTales on the NES, I also missed out on playing the original Castle of Illusion on the Sega Genesis. Maybe it was my anti-Disney phase that was playing out at the time. Yes, I thought I was too old for the fantasy, but these days my love for Disney has grown exponentially with a newfound affection for the movies, theme parks, and video games showing that I’ll never outgrow the house with the mouse. With that said I’m currently enjoying the remake of DuckTales, and soon I’ll once again reintroduce myself to the magical world of the PS2 classic Kingdom Hearts. Now I’m playing Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse for the first time, and I must say that this remake is a magical experience.

Plants vs Zombies 2 Review

I think I can say that I’m a little obsessed when it comes to the original Plants vs Zombies game. I became so addicted to the garden defense gameplay to the point that I had to own the game on every platform in my possession including my iPhone, iPad, and Xbox 360. I almost purchased it on PlayStation 3, but I was able to calm my gardening urges. With that said it looked like my obsession would finally calm down, but all of that would soon change when a certain sequel would arrive on my iPad and iPhone. Plants vs Zombies 2. The Crazy Dave in me has once again resurfaced as my obsession to defend my lawn against the endless zombie horde is back. Why? Because I’m crazy!

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 10th Anniversary Review

December 13, 2012 Leave a comment

Celebrating it’s tenth anniversary Rockstar Games brings back my favorite Grand Theft Auto game of all time. Vice City. In my opinion, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a mashup of Goodfellas meets Scarface. The other part that makes it so great is the fictitious Miami setting during the 1980s. I was hooked from the opening minutes as I just drove down the streets of a fictional neon lit South Beach to the club in the center of town. I even stole a police car, crashed vehicles, beat up a few bystanders, and created some random chaos and had a lot of fun doing it. I loved this game when i first played it on my Playstation 2, and now it’s on my iPad. Watch out Vice City because I’m back! Let me re-introduce you to Tommy Vercetti.
