Apotheon Review

February 7, 2015 2 comments

The Gods have betrayed Ancient Greece. Humanity is in turmoil as cities lay in ruin, forests have become bare, and the sun no longer shines. Chaos reigns supreme with man turning against man. Something must be done to end this treachery. As Nikandreos, I am visited by the Goddess Hera, wife of Zeus, who informs me of those responsible and charges me with the quest to ascend to Mount Olympus and strip them of their power. No, Kratos you are not, and clearly this is not God of War. This is Apotheon.

Velocity 2X Review

When I first saw Velocity 2X, I didn’t think much about it. For some strange reason it didn’t really hook me in. I never played the original game which may have been the the main reason why I decided not to give this a chance. The Dead Space games had it until the latest entry last year. I can list a few others, but these survival horror games all have something in common. They’re just not scary anymore. I had a sad feeling that the genre as a whole has become rather stale with no hopes of resuscitation. Then came Outlast, and all of a sudden I can feel the cold shiver move down my spine. The horror is back and better than ever.

Don’t Starve: Console Edition Review

February 3, 2014 1 comment

Day 22: Man, this beard is getting itchy. Winter is coming. The air is getting cold and my supplies are running low. Ever since I’ve been transported to this desolate locale I’ve been fighting for my life, hunger, and sanity against the elements of the unknown outside world. I can’t believe I’ve survived this long. Thanks Science Machine and my never ending supply of crops. While my inventions and farming techniques have prolonged my eventual demise I wonder how much longer I can go on. I don’t sleep much, I’m staring to see things, and…wait. What was that sound? I hear a howling within the wind. This doesn’t sound good. Darkness is coming. I need to build a fire. The howls are getting louder. I…
